THE GOOD NEWS

I would love to tell you about the most wonderful gift ever given to man - worth more than gold or any riches.

It is the greatest Good News that you will ever hear!

The Bible tells us in John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God loves YOU - and the longing of His heart is that YOU love Him.  Why?

BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE!  and He hates the fact that you are separated from Him by sin.

Some people consider ‘sin’ as things we do that are ‘against the Law’ - some think of murder and adultery as "major" sins compared with lying, swearing, greed or gossip.

The truth is that ‘sin’ simply means "to miss the mark." The mark is the standard established by God and evidenced by Jesus.

It is clear then that we are all sinners and we are all separated from a perfect, holy God.

Who has not said unkind words to someone that hurt and wounded?

    Who has not lied?

    Who has not stolen something?

Who has not been jealous, greedy, angry, envious?....

And who has not ignored the Almighty God?

God’s Word says in Romans 3:23: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

And in Romans 6:23 ‘The wages of sin is death’

God wants us to recognise our sin and our inability to do anything about the separation from Him that sin has caused because He wants us to consider the Gospel of the Grace of God - the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to bridge the gap between us and God - He came to live the perfect life we could not live and pay the price for our sin by His death on the cross.

In Jesus GOD offers us a way to be set free from the penalty for our sins AND give us eternal life.

Jesus was willing to suffer terribly for you, to give His life in place of yours so that you might be offered this gift. That is how much He loves you.

And the good news is that, we need only to turn around and ask God for forgiveness.

God has promised that when we do He will forgive us.

SO, IT IS FOR YOU TO CHOOSE.  Everything has been done by Jesus, the price paid in full for all your sins - the way to God open before you.

If you believe this in your heart, receiving Jesus as your Saviour, asking Him to be the Lord of your life, you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

That is the plan of God for salvation:  It is God’s plan for peace and life.

John 10:10 - Jesus came that you might have life and life abundant.

The Cross of Christ is God’s plan to bridge the gap between you and Him -

You cross the bridge into God’s family when you receive Christ’s free gift of salvation. The Bible says, “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” - John 1:12

To receive Jesus, a person needs to do four things:

Admit that you are a sinner and you need the Saviour.

Be willing to turn from your sins, and ask God to forgive you.

Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and then 3 days later rose from the grave.

Invite Jesus Christ to come in and take control of your life through His Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

If you have done this, take some time now to praise and thank your heavenly Father for the salvation He has given you in Christ Jesus. Thank Him for His Spirit who now dwells within you.

Make it a practice to read your Bible and to pray - ask the Lord to give you understanding and wisdom.

Make it a priority to meet with other believers who will help to grow in your faith.
